So here are 4 tips associated with the uploading of your video, that ensure that the search engines index your video correctly, and generate more viewers for you. TIP NO1. -TITLE When completing your title for the video, make sure that you include your keyword or phrase in it, so that the search engines can index it. Title like ‘how to's’ are good. Like ‘how to save money with an owl electricity monitor’, with your key phrases being ‘save money’, & ‘owl electricity monitor’. What about title length? If you want your video found and show by Google search engine, you have to remember that Google allows max of 66 characters for the title. And when they show it, they add ‘You Tube’ at the beginning. So that leaves you with 55 characters. Not being aware of this could leave you with a truncated title. In other words, the most important part including your key phrase could be missing ! Tip 2 - DESCRIPTION When you complete your description before uploading your video, whether for YouTube or on other video sharing site, make sure that you add your url a the beginning. Ideally with in the first two lines, as this is visible, when people view the video. On most sites, the URL will be clickable, taking the visitor to your web site. ALTHOUGH YouTube accounts for 75% of traffic- based on recent figures from the USA, there are other good video sharing sites like daily Motion, Meta café & mega Video, whose share may be small but can still generate viewers. I recently reviewed my account with Tube Mogul, which is a website where you can upload videos and then share them to multiple video sharing sites simultaneously. I found that that although YouTube accounted for 50% of views, met café & daily Motion contributed nearly 40% of views. So upload to as many video sharing sites as possible.
