View My Profile: http://glynnsole.earnalot.org As you know, getting your email and your newsletters opened is only the start of the battle of getting a response. Hopefully you have already learned about getting your subject line noticed and you should be getting an impressive opening rate for your emails and newsletters. As you know, getting your email and your newsletters opened is only the start of the battle of getting a response. Including an exciting, 30 second or so video that auto plays on opening will be getting the attention of your audience. So now it is time to get your message across and that means having a high impact TEXT message. The first and most obvious thing to do is to make your emails and newsletters as Personal as you possibly can. This does not mean you have to sit down and write hundreds or thousands of individual emails and newsletters to each person in your list, any decent auto responder will personalise your text for you. Usually you have several options such as using first or last name, or both. You can often further personalise your mailings by making the reader feel the letter is being aimed solely at them due to their geographical or demographic situation. For Example, my name is Glynn, I am over 50 yrs old and live in a small town called Withernsea. If I were to see an email or newsletter that started: "Hi Glynn, We have some Amazing news specifically for Withernsea men aged over 50. If you know anybody from the Withernsea area please read on to see how you could benefit from sharing this surprising New Information". -or I receive a email or newsletter that started-: "Hi, we have some information for you, please read on to see how you could benefit". Which communication would I carry on reading? Both of these examples take pretty much the same amount of time and effort to write because your auto responder will fill all the details into the individual mailings so you still only need write the original draft. The information you need to personalise your email/newsletter can be captured on your subscriber form, or by means of surveys on your web site, don't forget to give a free gift such as an ebook in return for people giving you the information you need. Likewise if you already have a large list that you didn't get information from use your auto responder to send them a survey, be creative with your reasons for the survey and don't forget the gift otherwise you will not get any feedback. When speaking to somebody one of the steps in getting them to buy is to get them to like you and therefore listen to what you have to say and believe you. ( Like, Listen, Believe, Buy.) Using their name frequently in the conversation goes a long way in achieving this and the same is true when writing to them so use their name in the body of newsletter or email, this will make the reader feel much closer to you. Do not make the mistake of over using the readers name as this will make you sound patronising and destroy forever your chance of a successful contact. In Conclusion:The first step of getting the text part of your emails and newsletters noticed is to make them personal by using the readers name, not just in the heading but in the body of the text as well. The next article will concentrate on how you layout the text in your email marketing mailings and your newsletters to make them easy to read and improve your response rates.
